Reflective Blog post

During this project, I found out that planing the scenes is kind of hard because for example, we need to perform the movements that represent our emotions, and at the same time we need to make sure that the audience can see clearly. However, I think communication is really important in the project. I think sharing our own ideas is the easiest part of the is the project because we just need to share our thoughts about movements or parts, and we would consequently improve or change it.

Also, I found out that designing the movements is interesting because it shows our ideas throughout the movements that we created, which I would like to see the reactions of the audience. Maybe they would be like "WOW, that's cool" or "What? I didn't think about it". And I was surprised that we successfully combined most ideas that we shared to design every single movement. But I was also a bit frustrated that the audience's reaction was not that excited as I mentioned, which actually means that we didn't change the perspectives really well to make the audience be excited.

Furthermore, the biggest change in this project was the ending part of our product. We've changed our ending which is distinct from the drafts before. To be specific, Niamh, Lachlan, and I have changed the position for standing from in front of Izzy to behind Izzy. As well as I think our group did a great job in communicating and activating parts, we share our opinions about our product, find out the issues, improve it and remind each other of the movements and the words. Which we had whispered a few seconds every time before we start to perform for verifying every one of us understood our own mission. From my perspective, we did well in improvising during the scene, because to be honest there's a couple of mistakes we had made like we didn't always synchronize the movements or actions. For instance, in the middle part, Niamh and Lacklan had a half-spin, and I should do a whole spin but I didn't cause I recognized I can't spin that fast to catch them up. So I decided to not spin to skip this step and replace the spin by putting down my head. Although it's my mistake, I did try to cover it on the stage which I think shows my improvising skill.

Moreover, in our group, I believe that our group uses the "change" frequently in the principles of improv. Because as I mentioned we did change and improve lots of things that we think could be better or unique. Also, specifically, I actually advocate changing the action in the "small circle" that Niamh & Lachlan are in. The first idea of this small circle is three of us are claping, claping till Izzy came back to the small circle and became a square. I think that was awkward so I suggested changing it, maybe changing it like we are celebrating? Or laughing? After the communication, we decide to change this part to whispering and laughing Izzy. Lastly, I think everything worked in this project, but we could still work on brainstorming more actions. because since we were practicing, it would subsequently pop out some different ideas which are like a process of brainstorming. So if we have more time and space, I believe that we could perform better.
